Halal UV gel polish is a type of nail polish that is free from any haram (forbidden) ingredients according to Islamic law. Additionally, for a nail polish to be truly halal, it must allow Muslim women to perform wudhu (ablution) without compromising their religious practices.
Tuesday in Love has distinguished itself in the halal beauty market by offering a UV gel polish that not only meets but exceeds the standards of halal certification. Here’s how:
Advanced Water Transmission Testing
Tuesday in Love's Halal UV Gel formulation undergoes rigorous testing to ensure its permeability to water. The formulation is lab-tested and certified by Direx Labs, using the most advanced testing machinery to measure water transmission rates. This ensures that water can pass through the polish, allowing for proper wudhu.
Direx Labs employs state-of-the-art equipment to measure the rate at which water passes through the polish. This meticulous testing process guarantees that the polish is genuinely water permeable, aligning with the requirements for halal certification.
Halal Certification
In addition to lab testing, Tuesday in Love's UV Gel polish is certified by the Halal Certification Services of Canada. This certification is a testament to the product's adherence to strict halal standards. The certification process involves a thorough review of the ingredients, manufacturing process, and overall product integrity to ensure that it meets the religious guidelines for halal products.
Benefits of UV Gel Polish
While the halal certification is a significant advantage, Tuesday in Love's Halal UV Gel polish also offers numerous benefits compared to regular nail polish:
Longer Lasting
One of the most notable advantages of UV gel polish is its longevity. UV gel polish is cured under a UV or LED lamp, creating a hard, durable finish that can last up to three weeks without chipping or peeling. This is significantly longer than traditional nail polish, which typically lasts only a few days before showing signs of wear.
More Durable
UV gel polish is known for its durability. The curing process ensures that the polish forms a strong bond with the nail, making it resistant to chips, cracks, and other forms of damage. This makes it an ideal choice for those with active lifestyles or those who frequently use their hands for work.
High-Gloss Finish
Another benefit of UV gel polish is its high-gloss finish. Unlike regular nail polish, which can lose its shine over time, UV gel polish maintains a glossy, salon-quality look throughout its wear period. This adds to the overall aesthetic appeal, making your nails look freshly manicured for weeks.
Reduced Drying Time
Traditional nail polishes can take a significant amount of time to dry completely, during which they are susceptible to smudging and dents. UV gel polish, however, dries in minutes under a UV or LED lamp, reducing the waiting time and the risk of ruining your manicure.
Versatility
UV gel polish offers versatility in terms of nail art and design. Its sturdy nature allows for intricate designs that would be difficult to achieve with regular polish. Moreover, the gel can be layered and cured without affecting the underlying layers, enabling more complex and durable nail art. -
Tuesday in Love’s Halal UV Gel Polish is a wudhu friendly formula that is Halal certified by the Halal Certification Services of Canada for the purposes of making wudhu. However, unlike our previous nitrocellulose-based formula, it not possible to do the “at home water permeability test” using a paper towel. Instead, our UV Gel polish is lab tested using state of the art WVTR Permeability Analyzers. This method allows us to measure and ensure a higher level of accuracy so that each batch is guaranteed to be wudhu friendly.

The term "water permeable" is used when it is tested using drops of water (done previously with filter paper or paper towel). However, the new breathable formula is lab tested with water vapors and high pressure gases. Therefore, legally we are required to use the term "breathable" instead of water permeable. However, it is important to note that our certifying body HCSC (Halal Certification Services of Canada) still approves the new breathable formula for wudhu because enough water passes through for the purposes of wudhu.
